WEST, Lowell Shell Jr.

Lowell Shell West 1934-2021

Lowell Shell West, Jr. passed away on Monday, 1 March 2021, at his home in West Weber, UT, of natural causes. He was born 10 June 1934 to Evelyn Gertrude Hurst and Lowell Shell West, Sr. in Burbank, CA. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 and was a gunner’s mate on the Destroyer, John A. Bole. He was honorably discharged in 1958. He attended BYU and received a BA in Secondary Education.

He taught a Panguitch High School for 4 years. He then taught at Roy High School for 28 years, retiring after 32 years of teaching History and Special Education. During the summer months he had a yard care service with his children and other young men for many years. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions. He was preceded in death by his wife Carole Flamm West. He is survived by his five children, ten grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
