Hey Grandpa – an inspired song by The Peterson’s

, a family that performs bluegrass and gospel on YouTube and at Branson, MO are my latest musical obsession.  This song, “Hey Grandpa” recently showed up on my YouTube playlist, and I thought I would share it here.

This song is inspired.  It speaks to the emotional and spiritual connection we have with our ancestors, and hints at the eternal truths about the eternal nature of family relationships.  I didn’t cry the first time I listened to it – but I did on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th time.

This song makes me think of the relationship I had with my maternal grandfather, Glenn Wadsworth, who was born in Panaca, Nevada, and died when I was a senior in high school.  We were very close.  So many times throughout my life, I have found myself thinking of him, missing him, and wishing I could share the experiences of my life with him.  Now, I’m crying again.
