First, I would like to say that I am excited to be a part of this organization. Although I wasn’t raised in the LDS atmosphere, I still hold the values and beliefs that were the cornerstone of who these pioneers were.
A little about me – I live in the South-East part of Washington State close to the Tri-City area (Richland, Kennewick, Pasco), and have been working for Washington State University for 23 years in the Engineering department trying to teach students the finer points of fabrication techniques.
As far as my connection to these pioneers, I have the unique privilege of being related to Brigham Young twice, both as a great-great grandson and a great-great-great grandson via my mom’s side of the family. My 3-times great grandfather on my Dad’s side is Daniel Webster Jones (40 Years Among the Indians) – pretty neat connection, I think!
I look forward to connecting with others that share the same heritage!
