My pioneer ancestors arrived in Utah in the 1860s, soon establishing themselves “Over Jordan,” later known as Taylorsville. I am the fourth generation of these people. Having grown up in the vicinity and having deep family roots there, I came to appreciate and love the folks and history of Taylorsville and the early surrounding communities. Both my grandfather and father were active members of the local SUP chapter there.

My life and career as a veterinarian and university professor have now taken me to Sanpete County where my wife, Lisa, and I have raised all of our children and subsequently watched them disperse to various other communities. We love the people here, and are thrilled to look forward to a new temple to be built close to our residence here in Ephraim.

I am looking forward to making meaningful connections and learning new things about early pioneers and settlers of all communities, especially in the Intermountain West.
