In last week’s newsletter I inadvertently sent you the wrong new email address for the SUP National Office. When I type supnatl, my computer automatically finishes the address for me. It has made me lazy. The correct new address is firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks for your patience and indulgence with my lame endeavors.
Thanks to all who have submitted questions for our National President-elect candidates. Look for written answers from John Clayton and Larry Gibson that will be attached to the ballots. In addition to answers to your thoughtful questions, there will be another short statement from each candidate.
We are about to run out of Pioneer Stories or Pioneer Minutes for inclusion in the newsletters. We again solicit your stories for inclusion.
American Ancestors has contacted us requesting “Trials and Tribulation” stories from our ancestors’ past. I am going to include an attachment regarding their request with this newsletter. Your stories are your intellectual property so we will not send them on to American Ancestors Organization, but you are certainly free to do so. We do, however, request that you submit your stories either to the Trail Marker or the newsletter before sending them to American Ancestors.
KSL television has informed us that on July 24th. The channel will rebroadcast last year’s Pioneer Day Parade beginning at 9:00 a.m. It will be an opportunity to see last year’s parade again or to see it for the first time if you missed it last year.
Some chapters are planning treks. In planning these events please follow these guidelines: rides should not be shared beyond family members, everyone should bring his or her own lunch, disinfecting wipes should be available, make adequate plans for bathroom breaks, we Saints like to hug and shake hands, please do not, maintain social distancing, make sure no one attends who has a fever, is coughing, has been sick, tested positive, or has been exposed and in light of the new directive from the Church Area Presidency, everyone should wear a mask. The person leading the tour can remove the mask while presenting if he or she maintains a good distance from the audience. Of course, you do not need to wear a mask while traveling.
SUP Board members are reminded of the National Board Meeting on Tuesday July 21 via zoom beginning at 6:00 p.m. Editorial Board Members are reminded of the Editorial Board Meeting on Wednesday July 29 at 6:00 p.m. via zoom also.
Thanks for your continued support of Sons of Utah Pioneers. It is a great organization and can be greater with all of us being active participants.Recommend0 recommendationsPublished in
